🗜️ Image Compressor
Drop images in, choose a quality level and an optional max width, and download smaller files. Compression happens with your browser's canvas, so your photos are never uploaded anywhere. Phone photos keep their correct orientation.
🔒 Runs 100% in your browser. Your data never leaves your device.
How to use
- Drop your images in, or click to pick them.
- Set the quality (80% is a good default) and, if you like, a maximum width.
- Click Compress, then download each file or all of them at once.
FAQ
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Images are decoded and re-encoded by your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server, which is why it also works offline once the page has loaded.
Why is my PNG bigger after compressing?
PNG is lossless and already tiny for flat colour and screenshots — re-saving as JPG can make it bigger, and the tool tells you when that happens. Photos, on the other hand, usually shrink a lot as JPG or WebP at 80%.
Will my phone photos come out sideways?
No. The EXIF orientation flag is applied when the image is decoded, so portrait photos stay portrait.
Is quality loss permanent?
Yes, JPG and WebP are lossy. Keep your originals — the tool never overwrites them.
